The studio version of Roisin's upcoming single Mamma's Place has now surfaced and I can tell you it's a banger tune.What's there to say? Somehow Roisin has managed to restyle early 90s commercial house music into into a sound for the early 10s.
The beats of Mamma's Place are Euro trash minus the trash and is very unlike any music that is out there at the moment. Anyone who has heard Culture Beat's Mr Vain will know I am talking about. Can't wait to hear how the remixers will have interpreted this tune.
Enough said, listen for yourself...

i dont know what it is, but i think i have a level of "worship" going on for this woman that only seems to be increasing. Never had that with any other artist.

Just want to say how much I bloody love this track again! Also, with all the excitement about Momma's Place I forget to say the Riva Starr remix of Royal T sounds superb too.
I know it doesn't mean anything and everybody is entitled to their own opinions but I'm actually surprised at how much of a split reaction it's got on the Popjustice forums. It's one of the most instant sounding tracks Róisín's released IMO and despite that it doesn't sound cheap, throwaway or soulless; it's got incredibly catchy beats, the house piano riff, lots of little synth noises and Róisín's fantastic vocals plus I LOVE the lyrics. I knew since hearing it in the live video I'd love it and I can honestly say it's probably my favourite Róisín track... there's just so much about it that I love!

I'm really excited to hear more! I love how the vocals on Momma's Place just come right at you and don't stop. This is going sound killer live. I can already see the backing vocalist standing next to her belting this one out of the venue. It's hot!
I'm also looking forward to hearing "Royal T." Her performance at the fashion show was spectacular.

I'm with you. I don't like that new direction at all. I still wait to ear the complete album, but I'm not very optimistic.
"Orally..." was the big deception of last year, this one is the first deception of 2010.
