Off and On by Sophie Ellis-Bextor

You can now listen to Sophie Ellis-Bextor's version of Off and On. Go to myspace.com/sophieellisbextor.

The song is produced by Calvin Harris and was infamously dropped by Roisin Murphy from the Overpowered album.

What can I say? Sophie isn't Roisin, is she? All very mediocre.

I love both, but yes Sophie isn't Sophie I must say. The production is exactly the same so it seams, but I like the end bit much better.

I didn't like the track the first time I heard it with Roisin's vocals and I still don't like it with the lovely Sophie... I was a Sophie Ellis-Bextor fan before Roisin btw, there's no need to have a go at her. At least you can tell what the lyrics are now...

Lyrics are much clearer now, true. All in all, works better with Sophie, definitely!

I think it's great.

I love both versions too, but i heard the Roisin Murphy version first and i fell inlove with it, even if the lyrics are kinda hard to understand hehe.. soo now it will take some time to get used to the Sophie Ellis-Bextor version, I love both singers very much and im happy Sophie is making a new cd im really looking forward to it.. its time for her to make a dance/disco cd like Kylie and Roisin both did.. and im still wondering if Roisin will release the other song with Calvin Harris as a B-Side to Movie Star.. I kinda hope she does, because Calvin Harris is a awesome producer.

I love the song but I don't like Sophie's much...I just felt anger and hatred the whole time I was listening to it, like 'SHE STOLE ROISIN'S HIT!' Although Roisin didn't want it, did she?

Yes, you can actually understand the lyrics now, but Sophie hasn't got as good a voice and she forces her English accent.

I am so glad Roisin abandoned this song. Roisin's talent far exceeds what this song can do for anyone. Let some tool like Sophie have it while Roisin gets to make more art.

Even though Roisin's version is ok, the song is pure garbage. I think everything Calvin Harris does is pure garbage. Pure, mechanical, crappy pop garbage.

Sophie's version sounds more mature and well mixed. I like it. Her british accent is so posh! I'm sorry for those who hate it, but she's british and she don't have to pretend to speak American English just to sell more albums/singles.

I don't think people dislike it for the accent. I love British accents, but Sophie Ellis Bextor just plain blows, she's a tool.

She's a product.

Of course, the writer is completely fair.
