And the winners are...

Though the polls will remain open, after four days and over 700 votes it seems quite clear which are your favourite Roisin albums:

Moloko: Statues (61% of votes) - My personal favourite too. Oh, don't you just love the album cover?

Roisin solo: Overpowered (71% of votes) - I have to admit this doesn't reflect my personal choice, but I can understand why most of you have gone for this one.

Thank you all for voting!

If you don't agree with the outcome and haven't taken part yet, you can still cast your vote. Maybe this will change the results? After all, this blog is a democracy!

Official site makeover

The official Roisin Murphy site has had a makeover. Though the site is quite basic at the moment, the good news is that the Forest National gig is back online as an interactive feature. You can now edit your own concert videos and upload them on the site.

Oh, last but not least, the homepage now includes a link to the blog run by yours truly. A big 'thank you' to Roisin's team for this. It's a great honour and acknowledgement!

Roisin & Crookers

Roisin has teamed up with the Italian dance duo Crookers, who are known for the Kid Cudi club hit Day N Nite, to record a song for their debut album. Other artists on the album include Spank Rock, Kelis and Madness.

Though there is no news yet about the actual collaboration, the duo said the following about the album as a whole: "It's probably not what you'd expect, it won't be a collection of dancefloor bangers!"

BBC 6 Music interview

You can now listen to the BBC 6 Music interview with Roisin, where she discusses her future musical plans:

* Roisin is working with various London producers to record her new album, which will have a more urban and gritty sound than Overpowered.

* She has left EMI. A string of arguments and disagreements between the label and the singer eventually lead to the split. Roisin is not quite sure who will release her third album, as she has not yet signed a new contract.

* Before releasing a whole new album, she wants to release "bundles and packages" of music. She doesn't expect to have a new album completed within a year and a half.

* The "big funky house track" Demon Lover will be released before the end of the summer, possible as part of an EP.

Over the moon

I may have been the first site to report the news, other online media are now slowly picking up on the news of Roisin's pregnancy. According to Irish Central, Roisin is said to be over the moon.

Perez Hilton has posted a special message on his Twitter page:

New single: Demon Lover

I can reveal that the first single from Roisin's next album is titled Demon Lover and will be released before the end of the summer!

Roisin describes the tune to BBC 6 Music as "a big funky house track. It's a souped-up full on garage tune".

About the album, which is still untitled, she says: "It is quite gritty, it has a slightly London sound to it, it's a bit more urban and bass-ey than Overpowered".

Sunday's edition of The Music Week will feature a full length interview with Roisin.

Dutch site confirms pregnancy

The Dutch music site musicfrom.nl has confirmed the news that Roisin Murphy is pregnant.

The report also claims that Roisin cancelled her show in Amsterdam in October on doctor's advice. This indicates that Roisin may put her musical activities on a low burner for a while.

Baby Murphy?

Roisin's performance with the Amsterdam Metropole orchestra on October 3 has been cancelled. According to the organisers this is due to the fact that Roisin is pregnant.

As TicketService is an official ticket outlet, I guess we can assume this news is true. Let's wait for an official announcement...

More news from Paris

Earlier this week Roisin was a guest of honour at Alexandre Vauthier's show in Paris. She spoke to WWD about being late for the show & her new album:

Alexandre Vauthier delayed the start of his show Tuesday to wait for guest of honor and sometime brand ambassador Roisin Murphy. “I was so stressed, we got stuck in traffic and they were calling me going; ‘Where are you?’” said the singer, who was accompanied by her boyfriend, artist Simon Henwood. Preferring her front-row seat to walking the runway for Vauthier as she did last season, Murphy said she’s currently concentrating on “writing and making music. You’ll hear about the album in the next couple of months,” she said, before heading to Givenchy’s show.
