Whisky birthday

I'm beginning to wonder if Roisin has a secret passion for that beverage called whisky. After all, she is Irish...

Not only will she mark the anniversary of Jack Daniels with a show in Tennessee, she is also travelling to Bulgaria to celebrate the 400th birthday of Bushmills whisky makers.

The birthday bash will take place on November 6 in Universiada in Sofia. Click here for further information.

Aaahhh... there's nowt wrong with a wee dram o' whisky! It's the only alcohol I drink and being drunk on that is much more pleasant than being drunk on beer... but maybe that's just my metabolism!

Whisky is believed to have originated in Ireland and at some point some Irishmen went to Scotland where it took off, so Scotland rather than Ireland is usually renowned as the home of whisky.

So I guess all this whisky business is merely Roisin acknowledging her Irish heritage.

Pop quiz: Does anyone know the correct spelling for which country? :-) whisky or whiskey?

Ah... no problem! Whisky is very dear to me and like most, assumed it originated in Scotland, but that is definitely not the case and indeed goes some way to explaining Roisins' patronage of Whisky events!
